Gifts on the Needles

Joining up again with the Yarn Along and Keep Calm and Craft On!

I’ve got so many projects planned and on the needles right now that Anna has had to stop me from taking on any new ones. She asks me, “How many projects do you have going right now? Be honest.” And I’ve got quite a few.

This week I finished the Dijon Top for Prescilla and gave it to her. She loved it! I made some modifications to the pattern: I added one more pattern repeat in the front and back (13 instead of 12 repeats) to add some length, and I also added 2 side panels in the armpits to add a little more girth to the top. The woman who wrote the pattern is pretty tiny (she includes her measurements in the pattern) and I wanted to make sure I made a good fit for Prescilla. It came out great. I hate seaming, though.

I’m also finished with the first of two baby sweaters I’m working on for Brianna’s new niece and nephew, as I mentioned in a previous post. I’m loving the yarn I’m using more and more. It’s Spud & Chloe sweater yarn and it’s just so soft and squishy. The adorable sweater came out great and is currently drying out on my very professional blocking mat (a folded towel).

As of last night I’ve got a little hat on my needles to go with the sweater, and I’ll probably cast on the second baby sweater tonight. I love knitting baby clothes! I just wish I had more reasons to do it (read: I wish I had more babies in my life).

Regarding what I’m reading right now, besides the book that I’m still working on, I’m also doing some legal reading lately. Sounds weird? There’s a new job in the works for me, and this week I’m getting all the paperwork straightened out. More details to come!
