This week, I’m still working on the test knit for Rachel of Born & Raised. I thought I would have a lot of time to work on it over the weekend, but surprise, surprise, my travel plans left very little down time, and I was so tired that I slept on the plane. I should have known that would happen!
The weekend in Austin was fantastic. I got to see almost all of my closest college friends and introduce them to Anna. Everyone liked each other and Anna loved Austin. She spent all of Sunday evening looking for ranches for sale in Travis County! The Pride parade was great as well. It feels so good to be around so many people celebrating love and diversity, and to see so many of my own close friends all brought together to celebrate. I’ll write more about it in a separate post.
(The hangover was rough, though)
I did finish the Leaves, Or Not sweater for Brianna’s nephew. It looks so cute with those little pockets!
I also managed to finish the book I was reading, The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Down. It was so great, I highly recommend it. I explained why I thought it was so fantastic in an earlier post, but if you don’t feel like reading all my rambling about it, suffice it to say that it is an interesting topic, beautifully and informatively written.
Today I’m planning to go to the library to fill this little void in my life of no book to read! I noticed an Orhan Pamuk book at The Last Bookstore the other day which I actually haven’t read, so I’m planning to hunt it down at the library today on my lunch break. For background, I discovered Orhan Pamuk while living in Jaipur and proceeded to read everything the man has ever written. I just love his work so much.
On a separate note, I have been keeping up with the goal I made for myself last week to write 1,000 words each weekday of my story. I’m 7,000 words deep now and making progress. Don’t tell my boss that sometimes I do this writing at work!
