Lydia in Paris

Once again, joining in for Yarn Along and Keep Calm and Craft On.

This week I managed to finish the slouchy beanie I was working on for Lydia (sister girl) to wear in Paris. I love how it turned out! I mentioned more pattern and yarn details last week, if you’re interested. Here are some shameless pictures of me modeling it – hopefully she’ll send some prettier pictures of herself in it soon.

Yes, I’m in my bathroom. What can I say, the light is nice in there.

This beanie will be on its way to la France later this week. I hope she likes it!

I’ve also begun (again) working on Anna’s sweatpants, this time with yarn that she likes. I ordered some Brava Bulky yarn from KnitPicks and I’m honestly super impressed with it. I decided to go with that option because of the price, mostly – sweatpants require a lot of yarn! The reviews on it wereΒ okay, not great, but you can’t really beat $2/ball, and the color, texture, and weight seemed like they’d be right.

I have to disagree with all of the negative reviews! The yarn I received is super soft and squishy, doesn’t have that cheap acrylic feel (you know what I mean) and is the perfect color and texture for what Anna wanted. So far the sweatpants are knitting up nicely, though I did have to rip back one time in order to make the leg opening wider.

Stay tuned for more sweatpants updates!

I also have a little bit of exciting news: because of a bit of demand and the encouragement of Anna, I’ve written out and posted the pattern for the little bunny I made last week. If you’re interested in trying it out, go ahead and download the pattern here. And if you do, let me know what you think! I’m still a novice pattern-writer, so I’d love to get some constructive criticism.

Happy knitting, everyone πŸ™‚
