Putting The Pieces Together

Another week of Yarn Along here.

These past weeks have been stressful, and even my knitting has been falling behind. I described my slow progress on the top I’m working on last week. Progress continues at the same slow pace, but now I have almost finished both sleeves and am nearly ready to put the pieces together!

I think the body part of the top actually needs to be a bit longer, so once I finish sleeve #2 I’ll add a few rows to that before attaching the sleeves. I’m excited and nervous to start on the final part of this project, the yoke. Send me good yoked sweater vibes!

Please excuse my dirty floor.

I went to my first knitting group meeting this week, which was big for me. It’s hard to force myself to go to social events, especially 1) after work and 2) without anyone else I know in attendance. I did it though, and it was great! Everyone was so friendly and we all chatted about our latest projects, knitting mishaps on public transit, etc. If you’ve never gone to a knitting meetup, I would highly recommend it. I believe you can find them on Ravelry, but I found this one on meetup.com.

As for reading, I’m still working onΒ The Red Tent, and it continues to be very good and interesting.

  1. Your sweater is so pretty – I love the bottom especially. Good for you getting to Knit Group. I understand as I shy away from groups where I don’t know very many people. I overcame the fear and found a couple of great spinning groups where I made some really good friends.
