Slow Going

Joining up this week with Yarn Along!

Like the title suggests, it’s been slow going with my latest project, the top I’m designing. Not because I lost interest or anything, just because I haven’t had much time to work on it. I’ve finished the waist and bust shaping and I’m almost at the point where I’m going to abandon the main body of the top for a bit while I make the sleeves. So, slow going, but still going!

Waist decreases and bust increases.

I also have an official request from Anna to make one of these bears for her to bring with her in April to her sister’s baby shower. It’s so cute! I’ll probably cast it on this weekend and work on it intermittently when I need a break from the top. It’s always nice to have a small and large project going at the same time.

As for what I’m reading, I was lent The Red Tent a couple of weeks ago and I’m really enjoying it. Having grown up surrounded by biblical stories, it’s been super interesting to read the same stories from the perspective of women.

Not a lot more to report here, just chugging along with my slow progress whenever I get a break from work and everything else. What are you knitting and reading?

  1. This yarn is so pretty.

Every winter I tell myself I’m going to learn to play bass again (I did full time when I was younger) and knit or crochet (my mom crochets). Aaaand it’s March and I found a zillion other projects to do and forgot all about those goals yet another year! So I love seeing others’ creations đŸ™‚

Thank you! I was the same way forever (and I still am with my mountain of other prospective projects) but when I finally did take up knitting again a couple years ago I just…got hooked. I can’t stop. There are scraps of yarn and partially completed projects everywhere!
